Hi there. I've just ordered a Sony SZ2XP VAIO laptop and I'll need something to protect it/carry it over to uni in.

Could anyone please recommend me a good laptop bag (backpack style) to carry it in, that offers good protection and a good amount of space for other stuff - leads/stationary etc?

Also, would I be better trying to get one that doesn't scream 'There's a laptop inside me'?

Thanks a lot,

Pete

I dont know if you have a shop in town near you called "Blacks" but they do camping equipment. I was looking everywhere for one to carry a laptop and I found this black one with loads of pockets (the zips are orange for identification purposes). It was £35 and basically saved my life for taking a laptop on the train a few times in the summer holidays

Targus usually make good bags. I have one and had it for 2 years now for my laptop. Taken it everywhere with me, to the US, to Holland. Never had any problems and has enough space to fit books and stationary aswell.

The one I have is here. Click Me!!!!!

Though they have much bigger range now. I quite like this one.

I originally bought an "Antler Jump" laptop bag (backpack style) for my Inspiron 6000, just over a year ago now for around £25. The right strap was falling off after a few months so I scrapped it (had been carrying on one shoulder some of the time), though it did get reasonably heavy usage.

I then bought a Pakuma Akara K2 (http://pakuma.com/products/akara_k2.htm) and am still using it today, great bag, can't fault it really. Cost me about £50 I think but worth every penny - just feels better built and there's more room, looks better too and generally well thought out (CD holder, grey lining etc.)

Hope this helps, null :)

i bought a bag for my laptop from purple-shirt-pc-place. it cost £40 or so.
it has air pockets to cushion blows and has kept my laptop working for over a year without issues.

tip. highlight blank spaces.
