Here is Guru3D's power supply recommendation:
•GeForce GTX 970 or 980 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 500 Watt power supply unit.
•GeForce GTX 970 or 980 in 2-way SLI - On your average system the cards require you to have an 800 Watt power supply unit as minimum.
If you are going to overclock your GPU or processor, then we do recommend you purchase something with some more stamina.

When vendors/manufacturers have recommended PSU watttage for GPU's they take into account people who have bought chinnese bombers/low brand PSU's.
For your rig a quality Gold rated 750W psu will be more than enough to run your set up.Best choice at level is the Evga Supernova G2 750w or SF leadex Gold 750w.Even if you Oc'ed both cards and your CPU you would still only be drawing around 600-650w at load
An 850w PSU would be excessive,1000w would be overkill

I meant nvidia/gigbyte/msi/evga recommendations for the products,which are the recommendations Review sites use like guru 3d
Yes will be more than enough juice if its a quality Gold 750w unit.
For reference plenty of people use 750w psu's to power Oc'ed I7 sli 780' rigs and the 780 requires 80w more per card than a 970

Even though it's a Seasonic unit, it's from their budget range and users on here have said that it's very noisey when put under any load. It's also not particularly great value for money considering it's only bronze rated.
I would personally hang on for the EVGA Supernova G2 850w to come back into stock. It's only £20 extra, is gold rated, Superflower built and is based on their Leadex platform plus it has a whopping 10 year warranty. You could always ask OCUK in the customer service section of the forum when they are expecting them back in stock.
