I am looking for a good software firewall at the moment. I have tried:

1) Norton Internet Security (So slow as we all know)

2) Sygate Personal Firewall 5.5 (Very good, but occasionally the service wont start, happened across multiple systems)

3) Ashampoo Personal Firewall (Gave this one a go as I was impressed with Ashampoo Magical Defrag but it just caused blue screens (IPSRV or similar file name) across sever pc's

Please recommended some that you have had good experience with, thanks!

wait for nod32 suite. :)

use the windows XP fire wall in the mean time, anyway are you using a router?

Ah, nod32. My trusted AV program. Let's hope they are as good at firewalls as AV / Spyware).

Not too keen on XP's firewall. The other two look reputable, may give them a go. I have found PC Tools Firewall. It looks a little "too" user friendly. But it can do the job better then XP's firewall, and is a good solution till I find a good one.

Thanks for your help so far. Any other additions or perhaps an "agreed" choice on firewall?
