Hey guys,

Gonna be starting my own letting agency and need a good wide angle compact camera to take interior pictures of properties, any suggestions would be great.

Cheers Guys

Ricky

I have a Panasonic TZ3 and can't really say too much bad about it.
It is classed as wide angle (28mm) which is reasonable for what you want.
I don't think you can get extra or ultra wide angle compacts, but might be worth searching for.
My TZ3 is superceded by the TZ5 which I think is similar with just a few more meaningless pixels. They are both reasonably chunky and solid, but fit in pocket no probs.
It does not have an optical viewfinder - so you need to use the rear LCD Screen for composition.:)

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3, 24mm at the wide end and a fast F2-2.8mm lens which will come in handy for in door photography.

This camera I going to be core to your business. I would recommend a DSLR and proper lenses. The wider you go, the bigger the room looks. The more likely you are to get a viewing.

The bare minimum is a crop camera with 10-20 zoom.

Or a full frame camera with 16-35 which has a similar field of view.

(rummage rummage) Here is a sample that shows how much of a small room you can fit in.

If it were my business, I would want a full frame camera and the 14mm prime:

And the 17mm TS:

And I would throw a fish-eye in the bag for when you are desperate:

Thanks for the replies guys, really appreciate it.

I would like to go down the SLR route once we're established and turning over a a decent profit, for now though we're on quite a tight budget so will have to stick with a compact.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 looks really good and you can also buy an additional wide angle lens that will allow it to go down to 14mm, should be a decent set up to start with, just need to go somewhere to test it out.
