Hopefully there is a product like this out there, and easy to set up.

Just 1 cam, pointing at the door, 24hr recording, no subscription, if there is alert of movement, that would be good.

Perhaps record to a USB thumb drive? Without the need of a NAS.

See if Tapo can help on what you are looking for.
Yup

I've got a couple of them as "daddy cams" for when I'm away in case my dad triggers his alarm by mistake, nephew bought a couple as baby monitors when I told him they only cost £25 each for pan and tilt with two way sound (about another tenner for an sd card).
I also fitted an outdoor one on the shed as a garden cam/"how screwed are we with flooding cam" ;) (I can tell it to turn and point at the flood level marker down the garden).

Although they're not very discrete, but i've not looked at the full range.

The only problem I have had with the Tapo's is that sometimes it seems like they lose wifi connection, a quick reboot fixes it (I think it's happened maybe 3 times in 4 years across 3 cameras).

Or Raymond, you could look into UniFi protect, but it will cost more than Eufy, but you would get use of their excellent routers and potentially APs.

I got a Reolink one, for the loft.

Has motion detection, pings my phone, you can watch it live, move it around even talk through it I think.

Saves everything on a microSD card.

No subscription either.

This is the exact one I got:

That might be too complicated, it's just something I want to set up for my dad with an app on his phone so he can use it to monitor his property.

Something really simple and basic, both for me to set up for him, and for him to press a button to open the camera to look at it on his phone.

We've got the pan/tilt and follow indoors linked to Tapo plugs that are turned on or off by voice and so far haven't had any issues with connection (whole mesh probably helps)
In the garden I have one fixed above the back door, one fixed at the end of the house facing the back door and for the rest of the garden a pan/tilt and follow Tapo.

All controlled remotely and stored to SD card with remote download if needed.

For the price, the quality of the video is spot on.

The Tapo's I think do the ping you thing and at least the external ones can IIRC detect the difference between motion and people (reasonably well), not sure if it can be set to ping on the app i'd have to look into that.

I use Reolink at my place and me mums. Have done for years and they're flawless. I just lob a sdcard into them and access them remotely via my phone if required.

I have a few Tapo C110s and they are great. No subscription and you can put a microSD card in to record footage. Weirdly on the page it says either 256GB or 512GB max capacity microSD. I think I've used 256GB ones. You can turn the movement alerts off. They are fixed, no tilt or anything like that but they come on a base that can be used on a shelf or screwed to a wall, I think. The only issue is they do seem to lose connection sometimes when I try to view them in the app.
