Hey all,

Here are my new specs:

- E8400 Core 2 Duo
- 4GB 8500 Crucial RAM (4x1GB)
- UNKNOWN GFX
- 500GB Western Digital Hard Drive
- 620W Corsair PSU
- Antec P182 Case

- Windows Vista Ultimate 64Bit

That's my final spec, less one graphics card :p I'm still undecided whether or not to grab an 3870X2 or wait for the GX2.
However, whether I go for Nvidia or ATI, I will not be adding an additional graphics card - therefore will not be going crossfire or SLI (In the physical sense :))

I will be overclocking the CPU and Graphics card, and possibly adding water cooling sometime in the future.

So go ahead and throw some suggestions my way :)

Thanks,
Marky

Hey Marky

dunno if its any use but i started a similar thread "motherboard for q6600/q9300" and received a number of suggestions for p35 and x38 based boards which may be of some interest to you if thats what you are looking at

Thanks buddy I'll take a look now!

On Intel chipsets PCI-E 2.0 is only on X38/X48 & shortly on P45.
It's also sort of on nVidia's 780i (bit of a kludge with an addon chip) but should again shortly be on their 790i.

The 2 main features of PCI-E 2.0 are an increase in the power that the slot can feed the card & increased bandwidth - nothing yet needs PCI-E 2.0 though.
