Hiya Guys,

Long time no speak, I have finally decided to get my new case...

The dimensions i need it to be is 49cm(H) x 23cm(W) x 59cm(D) (NOTE: These are the max dimensions i can have).

Right, so money isn't an issue regarding the case.. I need something that is well cooled and ventilated etc...

My specs are Q6600 running at stock... 8800Ultra and an Asus P5N-E SLI.

Oh and i have a Tagen 1100W PSU.

Can you spec me a case please guys...

Cheers :D

Hi :)

I know you say budget isn't an issue, but do you have any maximum budget in mind? And any ball park figure for the number of drive bays you need? Any other features etc?

Also, when you say...

The dimensions i need it to be is 49cm(H) x 23cm(W) x 59cm(D) (NOTE: These are the max dimensions i can have).

...is your case going into a confined space, like an enclosed shelf on a desk or something?

I have a desk with a shelf underneath... these are the dimensions it needs to be to fit in there. My current case is monsterous and doesn't need to be.

I have 2 DVD drive and 1 Floppy drive. in my case i have my mobo, 4 x 1gb memory, 1100w PSU, 8800Ultra, 2 x 36GB Raptors Raid 0. and 2 x 160Gb storage drives. I also use an Arctic 7 Fan/cooler on the CPU, Q6600 running at stock. I hope this helps?

If need be the desk could be modified to allow room for more height but Width and Depth need to be that size max.

Hi again.

If need be the desk could be modified to allow room for more height but Width and Depth need to be that size max.

The reason I asked about the desk is that with your case being more or less enclosed, you'll want a case that doesn't have any side panel intakes/exhausts. Also, will the back of your case be restricted in terms of exhausting air? That is to say, does your desk have a back on it??

And actually, just thinking about it, adding more height would give more options as regards being able to choose cases that have their USB ports/headphone jacks etc on the top of the case... Phew, long sentence.

Ah okay, the desk doesn't have sides. This gives you a lot more options!

A friend has just built a new rig inside a Coolermaster CM-690 and he's pretty happy with it. Ticks all your boxes I think, and extra side, top and bottom fans can be added.

A popular one seems to be the Antec 900. The Antec site says it's a few mm too tall, but cooling is supposed to be very good. Looks wise, it's love it or hate it I think. Also note that it has a reputation for sucking up dust like a Dyson. So maybe not the best choice for you, given it'll be near the floor.

Another popular one round here is the Antec P182 but again, you'd have to remove that top shelf. It gets bonus points for build friendliness (apparently), sound dampening etc, but cooling might not be what you're looking for.

Lian Li make some lovely cases that would fit your requirements. Lots to choose from here. Personally, I'd be looking at something like the A10, but again, it's a cm or so too tall. I think 3Dgameman has a video review of this if you want to check out it's internals.

Check those out for starters and let us know how you get on :)

Just for info I've measured my 900 and it comes out at mm - 475 (h), 490 (d), 200 (w) so should fit in the space you mention.
