Need a new case

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about getting a new case so I can tuck my PC away rather than having it on top of my desk... The current case I have is the corsair 200R but need something a little smaller and with the capability of watercooling in the future. I have an ATX mobo so unfortunately a mATX case isn't an option at the moment.

I measured the vacant space I will utilise and the size of the case needs to be no more than: 39cm high x 29cm wide x 38cm deep. This is with allowing for a few cm either side and 5cm at the top for some air flow.

Can anyone recommend a case within those limits?

Thanks

You could have a look at the Cooltek W2:

A case that would take ATX with fair good air-cooling (with options to add more fans, and with good potential for going watercooling in the future.

Wow that's a smart case! I really do like it, I love the idea of separate sections for mobo and PSU etc. Much like the corsair 540. Literally the only thing I don't know if I need is the CD drive. With it being mounted at the rear it might be a bit of a problem as the PC would be pushed up against a wall with the exception of cables coming out the back... Other than that it pretty much ticks all the boxes. :)

Yea I was a big fan of the Corsair Air 540 as well and really wanted one, but after seeing the Cooltek W2, the quality of the 540 looks a bit of a joke with all that plastic that they use, considering both cases are simliar priced.

Are there any other cases that have two separate compartments? I only know of the corsair 540 and now this cooltek W2

Also, I've watched a couple of reviews of the cooltek W2 and I'm struggling to understand how it can offer good air flow seeing as the two front fans are blocked by the aluminium front panel?

Would this impact of on the effect of watercooling if the Rad was positioned there?

If you look at this picture:

I believe there's a gap/hallow space between the Aluminium front panel and the case inself (if you consider the shape of the panel), and air is intake via the bottom between that gap.

The only other two compartments cases I can recall are the Fractal Node 804 and Parvum S2.0, but those cases are for Micro-ATX form factor...

The 540 is an incredible case, just got one today! It looks so much better than the Cooltek W2 apart from the plastic rear SSD cases. I'm well chuffed and I'm one of the fussiest people on OCUK

Still, I don't think the Corsair 540 should be priced at any more than around £80, considering the corner they cut on the build quality...it's just a bit hard to swallow considering their lots of other better build quality ATX cases (granted they Midi rather than Cube case) cost not much more than £80...

The Antec ISK600M has two compartments. It's mATX too.

An upper chamber for motherboard, cpu, ram gpu etc
A lower chamber for PSU, HDD's etc.

At around only £60 inc VAT, it's a steal!
