Need a new graphic novel - suggestions?

You've made a good choice, the tv show starts on friday (on fx I believe) If you have the sky or the like.

It was a good choice until WH Smith cancelled my order and said the hardback omnibus is out of print ... I'll have to start looking for it again. Volume 3 is about to come out. If I can't get the first omnibus I'll have to get the standard hardback editions. I don't like mixing and matching different book types in a series ...
 
Where's the best place to get these online? I don't really have any comic book stores near me so find onine is easier.

Amazon, Forbidden Planet, Play etc ... do a search though, most are cheaper for some books, but more expensive for others ...

Amazon or the Book Depository (online) are probably the best. Reasonable prices, quick delivery. The only problem with them is that you have to wait for the UK release, which is normally a month or two after the US.

Forbidden Planet are ok, but you often have to wait for stuff to come from the US to them, then they send it on to you. They also don't check whether books are available when you order, so you can be waiting 6-8 weeks to find out they can't get it.
 
I've ordered The Walking Dead Book 1 (first 12 episodes) for £14. If I like it then I'll invest in the Vol 2 and pending Vol 3 Omnibus editions. Vol 1 is out of print and currently reaching £300 on Ebay :/ Vol 2 is £40, but Vol 3 also has a signed and numbered edition for £80 that might be a worthwhile investment ...

If you're interested in either the y:the last man series or the walking dead series I have a large collection of both in excellent condition i'd be interested in selling for a good price, email in trust if you're interested!

Batman The killing joke was good as you seem to have read a few batmans. Also the X-men Civil war series was really good. not sure it you can buy it all together if you can its well worth it.

Civil War needs you to be fairly up to date with the Marvel Universe, I'd pass if you're not. Unfortunately the "core" graphic novel (Civil War) doesn't do a great job of keeping the story running, it's very obvious that you're missing out on big chunks of the story.

Bearing in mind it's 20 odd graphic novels for the full story it's not one I'd recommend.
