Hello all,

I currently have the uber GeForce 7300 LE card, and as hard as it may be to believe I'm looking for a new graphics card.

I'm not sure what information is needed to make a judgement, so I guess I'll just say what the main components of my pc are.

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E7500
Motherboard: Gigabyte, not sure of the model.
RAM: 2GB
OS: Windows 7 64bit

My budget is £200, though I am willing to go slightly above that if it's worth the extra amount.

Cheers in advance :P

Cheers for the recommendation guys, I looked up the 460 and was hit by a huge amount of variation of the 460. Should I just go for the most expensive one that my budget allows?

First we need to know what make and wattage your power supply is.

Then we need to know whether your CPU is overclocked or not and I would highly recommend getting 2gb more RAM. 4gb is the mininum for gaming nowadays.

I have an OCZ power supply, however the wattage I have no idea I'm afraid.
My CPU isn't overclocked, I'm too worried about breaking it to tinker with it, hehe.

Also, I apologise but I may have been misleading you guys.
I'm not so much a big PC gamer anymore, I'd like a new card that can play the latest games but I don't need everything to be at top (or near top) graphics anymore, medium is acceptable for me nowadays. (Anything more is a bonus)
It's just that card I have at the moment is useless for even oldish games like World of Warcraft. (Notably end game dungeon of Lich King)

If that is so then you wont need to spend 200 on a card. A second hand GTX275 or 4890 will do for your needs and if im correct WOW is cpu based so an overclock would give you a nice fps boost in WOW, its safe as long as you keep the CPU within the Voltage boundaries and heat boundaries.

+1 good advice.

Get 2gb RAM firstly. Either second hand card as above or if wanting something new and shiny then a 768MB GTX 460, the asus can be had for £112!

Warcraft tends to run better on Nvidia graphics cards.

I would probably get a GTS450 1GB or an HD5770 1GB:

These tests seem to have DX11 activated:

Both can be had for around £100:

The GTS450 1GB can be had for around £90.

A GTX460 768MB for around £125 will be faster:

However, the GTX460 when overclocked does consume more power so a GTS450 1GB or an HD5770 1GB would be a safer choice IMHO.

Guys, stop suggesting £150-£200 graphics cards, OP has clearly said he does not really play games much anymore.

OP, like other posters have said, get more ram, open your case up and look on the side of the psu and tell us the model number, overclock the cpu a little (depending on PSU and motherboard), and then think about new graphics. As said previously, you would be better off with a GTS450, HD5770, GTX260 or HD4870/4890

EDIT - the HD4870/4890 are suggestions for second hand

I tried looking for a model number on the sides that are visible on the PSU but there isn't anything, I guess the important bits of info are hidden. :(
