OK, I've got a 320GB SG 7200.11 here and it's full, so I'm going to get a 500GB drive to replace it(it's getting old and They aren't exactly the most reliable drives in the world.)

My question is this, what is the most reliable 500GB drive out there?

I myself personally swear by either Samsung or Hitachi. I've had too many failed Western Digital or Maxtor hard drives that barely last 2 years, and they were only used as data backup drives so they weren't heavily loaded. Seagate I haven't had too much of a problem but then it has been a long time I had one of their products.

So for 500GBs, any of the top three listed here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?&groupid=701&catid=14&subid=940&sortby=priceAsc would be perfect for you. And they are great prices too.

Of course I assume you are looking for SATA hard drives and not IDE?
