Depends on mic sensitivity but it really shouldnt, unless you hsve some crazy high volumes.

You should be fine. I did find the X1 to not leak as bad as some of my other open backs.

Regarding the Xonar DG soundcard, its headphone amp will be sufficient to power the X1s, but I would put some money aside to get a dedicated headphone amp later down the line to really get the best from the X1s and 'proof' against any other can you may purchase

Forgot to ask, I hear different things about the X1s and rock/metal. Coming from the 780s I presume they'll sound better either way but just figure I'd ask for an opinion.

What did you hear? It will depend on your ears if you like them for Rock and Metal. I prefer the cheaper SR60i with L cush for Rocl, Metal.

The X1 did not do too badly to my ears.

Seems a few people don't like them for rock etc. I listen to a lot of music genres though so if they are still good all rounders ill be grabbing a pair soon.

It depends on people's criteria. For rock I reach for a warm headphone that is quite balanced but mid centric.

The X1s I found myself reaching for them for electronic music more then anything.

So it's basically get some and see how if I like the sound? Suppose it is personal preference at the end if the day.
