need a new hoover

Get one of those that specifically cover pets and have a 'turbo' brush attachment. I have a bagless Morphy Richards 'Performair' pets which works a treat.

Dyson with the carpet brushes, that's what my mum always gets, your carpet will change colour the first time you use it :p

Dyson Animal, designed specifically for the job you require it for...

My rents have two cats and it does the job well!

Panasonic Fold n Go although I have never used it on hair it is brilliant, just make sure you get one which is designed for hair and has the hepa filters.

Got mine for about ~£30 of ebay. catalogue return, which means perfect working order, basically means used once and sent back.

Although it's developed a fault(although I think my fault, broken plastic) so need to buy another. But it's lasted years.

They don't even pick up dust and are so over priced.

We have a dog and cat and use a standard dyson (about 6 years old now) and it works great. Can't believe how long it's lasted compared to the crappy ones we used to buy and I'm expecting it to last another 6 years!

another vote for dyson

had one about 7 years now only thing we had to do with it was fit a new drive belt after 4 years at the whopping cost of a couple of quid

still going strong and works wonders :)

My parents have had 2 Dysons, neither of which saw any particularly strenuous use. On both of them the cable cover came loose where the cable joins the main body, making them potentially dangerous. I wouldn't buy a Dyson having seen this.

Also, my mate got a Dyson and it was an ergonomic nightmare. It took about 15 minutes to figure out how to detach the different head thingies that you put on the hose for cleaning stairs and suchlike.
