I'm fed up with my ASUS Rampage 2 board, it's the worst motherboard I've ever had the misfortune to own, riddled with issues. ASUS Support are second to none.... At poor English skills and failure to understand any of the issues.

My first ASUS board, and most definately the last.

Can anyone recommend a good replacement?

I need to run 2 GTX280's in SLi, a 3ware PCI-E RAID card and sound card if possible.

Price no issue, I want something solid and stable.

The Gigabyte X58's are supposed to be good....what problems are you having ?

Constant BIOS issues, no video post on all BIOS revs.
G15 doesn't work with BIOS revisions higher than 1104.
Sleep doesn't work, just crashes when trying to make it sleep (Win 7 Pro/Vista Business).
ASUS Support can't grasp any of these issues and send default replies that are no help.

My EVGA 680i has to be the most solid/stable mobo I've ever had, still working perfectly after 2 1/2 years of heavy use. Are their X58 offerings not on par with the older models? I've had issues with Gigabyte boards in the past and reluctant to buy one of them.

Very interesting, I must say I am blissfully happy with my R2E and have not experienced any of the problems you are having.

You must have a bad board, I would RMA it back to Asus pronto.

I do not have any of the bios/no post problems with mine. I'm running bios 1504 on mine currently.
Also, sleep mode is perfectly fine on my Win 7 Setup.
Maybe you just have a duff example and should rma to place of purchase for replacement. Give it a chance as mine has been the most reliable board, along with the Maximus Foumula i owned in recent times.

It is solid once booted in the OS, it seams that it's just the BIOS that is flakey as hell.

All the issues seam to be related to the BIOS.

No keyboard on boot, definately BIOS.
No video post, definately BIOS.
Sleep issues, probably BIOS.

I have also been running everything at stock for some time now so there is definately no issue with overclock.

Oh yer and also I cannot enter the RAID BIOS screen with this board, the ASUS BIOS doesn't allocate enough RAM for add-on BIOS to use. I've also reported this and got useless answers from ASUS tech support. This obviously is a BIOS issue, so either they can't fix it, aren't prepared to fix it, or their pathetic support cannot speak English well enough to even understand the problem.

It's a shame you're not like Asus MB ATM as I'm happy running an Asus P6T Deluxe V2. Have had no problems with the board, running 920 @ 4.2Ghz HT & Turbo.

Ordered the p6t deluxe v2 for my new i7 build, looks like a pretty good board.

Do ASUS do a cross ship RMA?

I suppose if I can RMA it as faulty (and the new one doesn't have these issues) then that'll be an best and cheapest solution.

The board I have must be one of the very first manufactured, I bought it almost immediately after it was released and I know others had similar issues who bought the board last year, perhaps newer stock has had small revisions to fix the issues.
