need a new modem/router! virgin media

HMMM PROBLEM!

everytime i open steam i loose connection to the net which isnt good grrr! i'll have alook about on google for a solution.

Go to the Web-Admin and log in
Go to 'Administration'
Go to 'Management'
Enter the following values at 'IP Filter Settings'
Maximum Ports: 4096
TCP Timeout (s): 3600 to 90 (decrease if you have many TCP connections)
UDP Timeout (s): 3600 to 90 (decrease if you have many UDP connections)

installed ut3 today... every time the game finnish's it disconnects and logs me out the game!

do u think this could be the router?
 
The GS isn't very good though is it as it's quite limited to compatibility.

GL is the way to go =]
 
Ive got the GS with the DDRT firmware. Does everything i could ask from it. Its also connected to a switch and co-exists quite happily with that.
 
yeah i mean it worked on everything else, apart from ut3 for some reason it was keep disconnecting me and logging me out, also had the same problem with CnC zero hour. apart from them few problems and the dodgy default firmware it was ok, i'll stick to netgear in the future. :)
 
Nope, and you will want to delete the competitor name ;). I bought it because i destroyed a Belkin one for being a POS. Its a good router. Linksys all the way.
