So today my LG G4 packed in, wont turn on, charge or anything, one minute I was using it next min it just completely packed in.

The rainforest is giving me a full refund as they wont replace it, but I need a new phone to take it's place.

I will be getting about £330 in a refund.

I don't mind putting more towards the phone but i'm not spending Galaxy S7 prices there's just no way on this planet you could convince me it's worth that kind of money.

I'd like at least a similar size 5.5" and speed, as it's 1 year on I expect there to be a few more phones out now that I can replace it with due to the technology cycle.

I couldn't care less about brands, frankly I have been hearing a lot more great things about the cheaper brands over the premium brands.

At the moment i'm leaning towards the One Plus 3, which seems like a good option.

Does anyone have any other suggestions.

I think One Plus 3 is a great option. Or there's the smart premium 7 that has a quad hd screen. But I would go the One Plus 3 personally because of the SD820 and metal body. The smart premium 7 uses a SD652 which is basically the same chip that was in your LG G4.

You could get a hauwei p9 from carphonewarehouse for £370 or from giffgaff for £380 (including £10 top up). I have one and I like it quite a lot. The EMUI skin that runs on top of android gets some hate but I think it's fine once you've figured it out :-)

Edit: It's only 5.2" screen, so guess it's maybe too small.

I forgot about the htc 10. Htc are offering it for £470 atm (using their £100 off code), but that deal is ending on August 18th. It's a lot more money but on the other hand it's a really nice phone :p

EMUI is disgusting. Don't do it.
I'll admit it takes quite a lot of figuring out, but the OP can always message me if he gets one and gets stuck=)

Edit: The Gsam battery app (that you mentioned in another thread) has been running for a couple of hours now on my phone and it's still displaying it's battery information in my notifications, so I think that those fixes worked :)

I really like the p9, excellent phone for the money, super quick.
I thought id struggle with emui, but I actually really rate it, enough to not bother putting a launcher on.

Do you have the P9 lite?

Looking at the prices and the normal price for the P9 is easily hitting what i would class as the ridiculous when it comes to pricing.

EDIT: 3 have one or 389.99

Seems a bit pricy tbh, pretty much the same spec as a the now 18month old LG G4 and £50 more expensive.

I would have thrown in the Nexus 6P to the suggestions as well but we are so close to the release of the new 2016 Nexus devices...

Yeh, I did have a look at it, but it's £400+ for the decent model.

To be honest I'm surprised at the sheer lack of spec difference in a phone 18 months old and the newest ones out, I don't get why people are so caught up in upgrades all the time when there is literally no difference.

True, you could get another Lg g4 for £289.98 from a well know electronics store. Spelt like ebayer but with a 'u' in the 'bay'.

That's why I'm only just starting to look at upgrading my Nexus 5.

I wonder if this is why so many manufacturers don't have removable batteries these days. I think I could easily keep a phone for 4 years if they had replaceable official batteries.
