Need a new router.

At the moment I have one of Skys standard Sagecom's routers. I recently got a Galaxy Mini S4 and the wifi connection is unstable with frequent disconnects. I at first thought it was a defective phone however I got the device replaced and the wifi is still unstable.

Can anyone suggest me a better quality router please? Budget of about £50.

I have the sky router aswel! aswel as the S4 and my wifi keeps dropping all the time! and it's down to my router! so I think i'll be investing in a netgear

Yeah I'm glad I'm not the only one with the issue. Does yours reconnect again after a few seconds?

Some body said disabling WMM APSD in the router settings fixes the issue. I've just done this and will see if it holds out.

Does anyone know what disabling WMM APSD actually does? EDIT - Running with WMM APSD disabled hasn't fixed anything. Still disconnects.

the asus ones are held in high regard. should be a few in your range.

asus rt53 seems to be the best bang for buck. Dual band as well.

Assuming that your broadband comes in via the telephone line like everyone else then I don't see why not

I think all that I would need is the sky username and password for the router which I should be able to extract as Sky will not give it out.

So that's definitely the best router to go for then ?

The only suggestion I have, which is probably a stupid one, is pick up a second router with access point capabilities, hook it up to the Sky hub with an ethernet cable, and connect to the WiFi on the second router with your S4.

Hope it helps in any way shape or form
