I have Creative Inspire P380 speakers which have a hardwire volume control which sits on the desktop.

It is starting to fail, so that I can hear the speakers even with the volume control set to zero (i.e. when I only want to use headphones).

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement or something similar that will do the job?

I've spent time searching but haven't come up with anything.

Thanks.

hmm something like a Griffin PowerMate?

That looks really interesting, but it wouldn't do the job as it would control the overall volume.

What I actually need is a 'wired remote control'. I'll carry on searching, but if anyone knows of anything suitable in the meantime, it would be appreciated.

Incidentally, on the existing one there isn't simply a resistor I can replace.
