Need a good reference card, best i can get for £120-£130..i had ordered the Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5850 Extreme 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card **OcUK Exclusive** , great price but i have discovered it will not take a full water block as it is not reference...can any one advise on a similar spec card that is reference for the same money

Save the waterblock for now, get yourself a 460 and save up for a water block for that if you really want it.

not bought the block yet...card not dispatched either yet..its a cracking deal on the sapphire Radeon 5850 HD extreme @ £107..but i really wanted the full block...i could live with a single but that means i got to get a fan for the rams ?...kinda defeats the object of WC

solved...i cancelled the 5850 and have bought a ZOTAC GeForce GTX 460 1024MB GDDR5, which is ref design and so im told a better performer ?

ok...i guess i asked for a similar performing card which is guaranteed ref design...was the 5850 i had on order MUCH better...i have compromised a lot to have the full water block ?...i know it cost £48 more !!!

The 5850 and the 1GB 460 trade blows in some tests and the 5850 has a decent lead in others.

The closest 460 was the overclocked Palit.

The 5850 is so cheap now because it's been replaced. When it was launched it was quite a high end card so still performs well against todays mid range cards.

At least you can overclock the nuts off your 460 as it's watercooled.
