Good point, it has excellent residuals so you'd have to look at >3yo cars though.

But on the flip side, it's a very attractive car and "mum" could well be tempted?

Regarding the Grande Punto, I've seen a couple in the flesh and they look pretty good - but a 1.6 Focus would walk all over it, in every way IMO.
