Should I run my RAM at 1066 or 800mhz? My cpu is @ 200 or 400 mhz so would 1066 be pointless?

If your CPU is not overclocked, just leave the RAM at it's automatic/default speeds. The only thing you may need to adjust are the timings manually, as these are sometimes a bit conservative when left to set by themselves.
Yeah to really make the most of a 200MHz-FSB/800MHz-System-Bus chip get the memory running at 400MHz/DDR2-800 using the 1:2 divider (200-Strap) and a low tRD setting!
If you wanted to do a little overclocking and move your chip from 2.5GHz(12.5x200) to 3.32Ghz (12.5x266) then that along with the 200-Strap would also get your RAM up to speed (533MHz/DDR2-1066)
Run this app below and make a screenshot before you tinker in the BIOS, then when you make the changes (and assuming your PC bOOts) make another screenshot and compare it with the other one to see what's changed!

Well i do overclock from 200 to 400 FSB giving me 3.2Ghz I'm guessing I can't do 1066 anyways in oc for cpu. I have dominator 4gb ram should i lower the timings i never really messed with them don't know how i should set them. Thanks for all the help lads
Sorry Nate, I'm not sure if I read that right the first time? 
If your CPU is running on a 200MHz-FSB (800MHz-System Bus) the DDR2-800 is the one.
If your CPU is running on a 400MHz-FSB (1600MHz-System Bus) then DDR2-1066 is what you want!
If your CPU is running on a 200MHz-FSB (800MHz-System Bus) the DDR2-800 is the one.
If your CPU is running on a 400MHz-FSB (1600MHz-System Bus) then DDR2-1066 is what you want!

But my CPU to RAM ratio is 1:1 with my RAM as DDR2-800?? *confused*

If your running the CPU using a 400MHz-FSB (1600MHz-System BUS) then the RAM (sync 1:1) will be running at base 400MHz (DDR2-800).
Running the base Memory MHz at the same speed as the FSB is a bare minimum, in an ideal world you would then put the RAM on a multiplier and run it even faster!
If you do indeed have 533MHz Ram (DDR2-1066) then why not use it?
What CPU are you using btw?

My cpu is Intel Q9450. I heard if the ram is faster than the FSB then you can't gain any more speed because the Ram is sending data faster than the CPU takes it and send it back so the RAM just has to wait for the CPU.
So if i'm using 533Mhz ram and 400mhz CPU the cpu would not catch up? I heard you need to overclock the CPU to 533Mhz but I'm not sure. I guess why not use the 1066 as you say but im not sure if it would slow down the system rather then speed up
