Ok, so I like playing games with my HD650's (in fact I like listening to everything I can with them!) but I also need a mic for playing online games. I don't want to get any other 'gaming headphones' because I want to use my HD650's solely. A desk mic is no good because it picks up the keyboard too much. I have googled and googled for alternative solutions and so far the only thing I can find is this. There are plenty of other throat mics on the net but all the rest seem to need a radio unit to power them (paintballing and motorbiking). Do any of you use a throat mic? More importantly, can any of you please recommend one to use with a PC? I am guessing that site reckons they have a niche market to be charging £40 for a mic like that! :o

When I was looking at getting a throat mic for PC/Console gaming as well as Airsoft I heard good things about the 'iasus NT3'. Seem to go for $80. Could you not go for an elara clip-on mic? Got mine for £2 ish and apart from issues with my soundcard it seems pretty good.

You realise that while throat mics are very good at cutting out background noise, they do have quite a learning curve to be able to understand what's being said on them? If you think that perfectly clear voice comes out the other end then you're mistaken.

Why don't you use push-to-talk when chatting? That should cut out most of the background key tapping on a desk mic.

Try hunting down a Panzer or Tiger tank throat mic...Now that is old school! :p
It will give that extra realism when playing Arma2 or the upcoming Operation Flashpoint 2.
