Hi Guys

I have a 2002 Ford Focus and I've just purchased a folding camper for family holidays, I need to get a tow with electrics fitted, eBay show some mobile fitters but I'd like to know if anyone knows of a better option or company?

I'm in Stotfold Bedfordshire if that helps?

Many thanks

I bought a detachable tow bar on e-bay for my Mondeo & fitted it myself then nipped round to a local caravan place & had him sort the wiring out for not much £.

I bought a Witter towbar off ebay for something like £50? (also a FFocus)

The wiring all appears to go though one connector in the boot, so install should be OK. The bolts are junk but new SS ones are cheap enough.
The whole thing weighs a ton though, it seems ridiculously over engineered for towing a few hundred kg

I'm colour blind which makes me nervous when it comes to electric, cheapest fitted I can find is £208 all in

Will keep searching though

Thanks

I'm colour blind too (ish), which technically means I shouldn't have bothered studying Electronics or done anything related to wiring harnesses for nuclear power stations :D

Just prod the wires with a multimeter until you get the right one.

Somewhere I've got pics and a wiring list for my Focus, which differs from the Haynes manual, which also differs from everyone else's Ford wiring. I'm pretty sure all installers just do this from scratch.

What seems sensible to me is to aquire the two connectors from a scrap Ford, wire them back to back and then insert this cable back into the wiring loom, you can then tap off this addition without ever touching the original wiring.
