Hello

I have between £1500 and £2000 to spend to build
a top quality gaming rig, now im a complete novice at this
and below are the basic specs of my first ever build so please
be gentle, i haven't included peripirals yet i'll take care of that
at a later date at the moment im just concentrating on the
desktop unit itself so what does everybody think.

CPU: Intel core 2 Quad Q6600 (4 X 2.40GHz)
RAM: 4096MB corsair XMS2 800MHz (4 X 1GB)
Motherboard: ASUS P5N32-E SLI+:
Quad-core cpu ready nvidia dual x16 SLI
GPU: 768MB Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX
1st HD: 500GB serial ATA II with 16MB cache (7200RPM)
2nd HD: 500GB serial ATA II with 16MB cache (7200RPM)
OS: Windows vista home premium (64 Bit Edition)
Case: Silver/Black Trident Case
Power supply: 700W Quier Quad Rail PSU + 120mm case fan
cpu cooling: Zalman CNPS9700 NT Tritium super Aero cooler

Over the next day or so i plan on building a couple of more
other systems to try and perfect it, hopefully with everybodies
advice until then what does everybody think of my first attempt
and what advice does everybody have for improving things.

P.S. Im affraid i dont use this forum very often and it has been
brought to my attention today that i have a competitor link
which i should remove, im affraid i have no idea how to do this
yet, so i hope this wont affect your responces for me.

Thankyou :)

Ok mate, your spec looks in general pretty good, however I've put together a new one including all the peripherals you'll want. This includes everything you'll need (except a mouse mat ;) ), so don't worry about missing anything out. This does come out a little over budget, but you could save money not buying such an expensive keyboard, dropping the PSU to the Corsair 520W when it's in stock, not buying the speakers which you may already have and so on...

The spec Alex has done for you looks good, a few things though, The Noctua wont fit on that DS4 board i believe so just change the Cooler to the Tuniq tower or something.

Also that Logitech DiNovo Edge Bluetooth Keyboard is certainly not worth the money. :)
