Hello,
I bought the ultima mosasaur system 10 months ago, an Intel i7 2600 (sandybridge) 3.40ghz overclcoked to 4.6. With 2 Radeon hd 6590s crossfire and 4gb.

The ssd looks like it failed and it has always been blue screening when using the ocuk profile at 4.6ghz. So it is currently at Overclockers being looked at.

It has a Gigabyte P67A UD4 B3 motherboard in it.

I was thinking about asking to put me a new motherboard in. Is there a better mobo than the gigabyte one I have for around £300+?

I want one that is going to be easy to overclock preferably auto (im new to this overclcocking), and that is going to be stable and better than the one I currently have. And be best for running crossfire. What is THE best board to go for at this price range? I could stretch to this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-450-AS&tool=3
Would this work in it?

I would welcome any advice as I am a bit out of touch with the current parts.

I just dont know what to get. Its an absolute minefield

Why bother buying any motherboard?

If the one you have is faulty OcUK will replace it for nothing.

OcUK will also have to restore the overclock to a working 4.6GHz so unless you want to go higher you don't need to worry how easy or hard it is to overclock.

Surveyor's right. Your issues/ blue screens are all down to the ssd, it aint ur motherboard. Now, if u wish to look to upgrade ur mobo regardless, then this is a good option and not a lot of dosh:

Ivybridge compatible, PCI 3.0 ready, better than average onboard sound and network card, and an easy overclocker. Looks sleek in black with the gold capacitors too. Simples!

3 gpus and room for a good soundcard and it must be stable when overclocked :)
Ive heard the maximus isnt pcie 3.0 and is a bit cramped between the pcie sots?
And also that the bios is extremely complicated compared to the asrock one?
Its definitely a choice between these 2 tho.

The asrock does have an extra slot between the GPUs if you were to have 3, and were on air this would probably help a fair bit. What is your sound card, PCIe x1?

Theres no slots free with this ASUS with three GFX cards.

If this is right then the sound card slips between the top two,

P.S its not to scale but you get the idea. The last GFX card may actually be in the very bottom slot instead of how I have pictured it,

or tripple at PCIE 2.0 x16 (PCIE1) / PCIE 2.0 x8 (PCIE4) / PCIE 2.0 x8 (PCIE6) mode
