I'm in the exact same position. Dual monitors - either the Benq or the Samsung.

Not read much about the Samsung but my concerns about the BenQ are the reported terrible vertical viewing angles and potentially washed out colours. Though I know a lot of that is down to calibration.

I was wondering how the Samsung is with vertical viewing angles from close distance (within 1 metre).

Its such a difficult decision. I read some great things about the BenQ then suddenly a really negative review.

I'm going to be using my monitors for daily web and desktop work. Not worried too much about colour matching etc, but just want a clear display that doesn't change massively when I move my head..

From my vast experience - the build quality of the Samsung is much better and the image quality probably is too (in terms of less dithering and smoother colour gradients). I have used the B2230H only briefly (similar to the B2430H I'm sure) and it was a pretty decent performer and much better than any BenQ panel I've used to date.

You've not had a chance to try out the HDBL BenQ panel have you? I've interested to know what you thought.

The Samsung is tempting as I do get the impression they are generally pretty solid. I just don't want distracting vertical viewing angles which some people said is an issue in the BenQ's.
