Need Aircooler Recommendations For Socket 1155 (i5 2500K).

Terminal Boy;
Look forwarded to seeing your thoughts on how PA works. Which PA did you end up getting?
A very good question…

Due to my not paying as much attention as one should when placing online orders, I ended up with the single tower Assassin King 120 SE.

Luckily for me, it’s performing far better than it should for €24.

In a room with an ambient temp of 27°C (according to the CH thermostat on the wall 3 metres away), the highest temp recorded by HW Monitor was 64°C after 15minutes of running Prime95.

That’s only 5°C higher than the Corsair H60 ran a decade ago in a much cooler London spare room.

Installation was very quick and very straightforward.

Highly recommended.

Your AK120 SE is not as high wattage cooler as PA120 series, but it's still more than enough for your CPU. It's a great little cooler for very low cost! Your AK120 SE is 46+25(fan)x120x148mm with 5x 6mm heatpipes compared to PA120 SE being 110+25(front fan)x1205x157mm with 6x 6mm heatpipes. 6mm heatpipes are rated 40-60w TDP, so your single tower cooler is easily enough cooler to cool about 200w TDP CPU. PA120 raises that up to about 240w.

Your ew AK120 SE cools at least 25% better than old Hyper 212 EVO that cost half again more several years ago.;)
