seeing as WD 2TB green HDD's can be had for ~ £70 now, are there any decent external enclosures i can use with it?
It is to be connected to my o2 wireless box IV which has 2 USB ports and essentially be used as NAS. Ideally i want a low powered option that turns itself on 'on demand' (does something like that exist??) or something that winds down when not being accessed- speed doesnt really matter here as its to stream HD movies from.
from my experience i think the WD MyBooks used to do this. i currently have a vantec nexstar 3 external enclosure - although the nicest enclosure out there it doesnt power itself up and down and so will use lots of power and wear out the drive quicker.
