Need contract fone, but leaving the country in november for 5 months

Hey all

I want a contract phone (prob K800i) but I will be leaving the country in november for 5 months or so.

Anyone know about any contracts that you can cancel after 6 months, or ones that you can use abroad for cheap?

my sis just told me that she knew someone that got a 6 month contract from vodafone, any ideas?

Do you need a phone with it?

If not the o2 do a sim only package 1 one month contract 500mins 1000txt for £30

Or get a phone from onestopshop with discounted/free (via cashback) line rental and when you leave still pay the rental (or ask family member to) and fill in cash back forms so it wont cost nowt

EDIT : sorry didnt see the bit about the phone you want..

I'd doubt you will get a contract below 12months if you want a phone with it, your only option is to purchase the handset sim free and then go on a 1 month contract.

I would prob buy the handset from an auction site and take a sim only deal from one of the networks with a 30day contract

Orange offer something called temporary disconnection which might suit you, you take the contract, then when you go away, call up and you can disconnect it for 3-6 months, and reactivate it when you arrive back.
