Well i've come to a decision that I need a new motherboard, CPU and graphics card. But since i've started playing WoW I never read about the newest hardware and therefore I havn't a clue what to get. As I said I need those three peices of hardware maxing out at £500ish. If needed recommend fans or heatsinks to improve performance. The system will be obviously used for gaming.

I will be trusting your judgement on this guys as I no longer have a clue what i'm on about so spec' me well :D

Hows about this? Ive specced you some RAM as well as im assuming you dint have DDR2 RAM

CP-135-IN Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - OEM (CP-135-IN)
£97.99 £97.99
HS-017-AR Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket 775) (HS-017-AR)
£12.99 £12.99
MB-063-GI Gigabyte GA_965P_S3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-063-GI)
£79.99 £79.99
GX-042-OK OcUK GeForce 7900 GS 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-042-OK)
£97.99 £97.99
MY-034-GL GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC5300 667MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB5300DC) (MY-034-GL)
£139.99 £139.99
Subtotal £428.95
VAT £75.07
Total £504.02

Currently have GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS3 and i'm wanting a 512mb graphics card. Go over £500 if you want, but don't go crazy at £800 or something :p

If you went for the Core 2 Duo you would HAVE to buy DDR2 RAM, which makes your current RAM useless.

I would personally go with what has been specced, sell your current RAM and use the extra proceeds on a better graphics card :D

Don't see how you can beat meatloaf's spec - it's perfectly balanced which is what you want. Then you flog your old ram for some money back.

Yeah as above, go for the system i specced. Sell your current RAM, you should get £90 for it easy.

With an extra £90 you can either pocket the cash, or change the gfx card to a 7900GTO, X1900XT, or X1950 Pro :)

GX-042-OK OcUK GeForce 7900 GS 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-042-OK)

How about a OcUK GeForce 7900 GS 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) instead of 256mb one? :)

Code:
MSI K9N Platinum nForce 570 SLi (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-069-MS)
Price: £84.99 (£99.86 Including VAT at 17.5%)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ 2.20GHz (Socket AM2)
Price: £111.99 (£131.59 Including VAT at 17.5%)

OcUK GeForce 7900 GS 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-045-OK)
Price: £119.99 (£140.99 Including VAT at 17.5%)

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC5300 667MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel Kit
Price: £139.99 (£164.49 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Subtotal £456.96
Vat £79.97
Total £536.93

I've been recommended that system, what are your thoughts? :)

AMD X2 arent worth it the E6300 will fly past it and with a nice overclock (big or small) you cant go wrong. Use meatloafs spec and just change the gfx card for the 512mb one :)?

Ok, looks like i'll take that one then. Will there be better hardware at the same price at christmas with maybe some pricedrops or new releases? Or shouldn't I bother waiting?
