i know it's hard to answer right now ..or maby not ?
but my friend is coming back now from the USA to visit here little bit in israel and he told me he can bring me some hardware (cos here pc hardware veryyyy expensive)
i donno what to do ! the 4850 isn't out yet for sale ....and i can bring a 8800GTS MSI G92 at 200$ NOW wich is 120$ less from the price here in israel :(

what do u think ? should i get the 8800GTS and that's it ? or wait for the 4850 and buy it in my country for much ...MUCH more ...when it's out for sale here ?
i donno how much the 4850 will be better ' that's the problem i guess

what do u think ?

p.s why do i need a 4850 anyway if it's the same features as a 8800GTS today ? it's still DX 10 not even 10.1 noap ?

plz need a fast decision (today) and your help

10x all :D
...

It all depends on how much money you are willing to spend. If it is going to be MUCH cheaper as you say, i would get the 8800GTS. £60 is quite a big difference for the same item!

well if he can't wait for the 4850 which is out soon, then just ask him to grab you a GTS 512 - i'm sure he can find one for cheaper than $200.

either way, they should perform within a close percentage of each other, and if you have a SLI mobo, the GTS 512 will be a good buy if you can grab 2, and OC. if you don't have an SLI mobo, you'll still be pretty well off, as it is not a weak card...

IMO, it's more important that you get cheap tech using this opportunity, rather than let it slide and have to pay more for something new...

If there is a significant markup in Israel, then go for the 8800GTS. The 4850 doesn't look to be much faster (though it may well be better value).
