need for a geneva convention in the digital space?

Sounds like another treaty that will hand over control of the internet to Russia and China, who will completely ignore it.

Not 100% sure the biggest security risk to your average joe is foreign powers hacking in, more likely all the legal and above board data mining done by private companies and our own government.

we now need a Digital Geneva Convention that will commit governments to protecting civilians

Hahahaha **** off!. Why is this crap always about "protecting civilians" when it's all about protecting the elite ffs.

They want to protect civilians yet they've recently completely changed their entire business model to making money from data. They mine every ounce of customer data they can, and then sell it to make money!

No wonder they want to "protect civilians". Without our data they make no money.

Not sure about that - former employees of Nortel may disagree. There is no Nortel any more, there is however Huawei - founded by former People's Army officer.
