Hey all,

I am trying to get NFS: Carbon to run 100% on my system. Under Windows XP Professional, it runs perfect. However under Vista it runs, but not very smooth at all. :(

I have updated the game to the latest V1.4 oatch and installed the Cat 7.9 ATi drivers and a fresh install of Vista. Same problem.

Current specs of my machine are:

AMD A64 3400+ 2.4Ghz.
2GB DDR 400 memory.
X1950Pro 256MB AGP.
300GB SATA Drive.
Vista Ultimate.

So, does anyone have any ideas as to why it's running like a dog on my system?
Anyone got it working 100% on their system?

The processor may not be up to running vista ultimate and the game to the same standered xp can, my e6420 @3.2 however idles at 0-6% usage so it should not make that amount of difference. More likely it will be a driver issue, my a64 3000+ ran vista like a dog!

Have you tried the 7.8's?

When I had Vista installed on mine (Home Premium x64) and NFS Carbon patched to 1.4, it ran brilliantly, as well as it does on XP.

I think the last time I ran Vista we were probably on 7.7's, maybe 7.8's though. So try that. :)

Everything else runs perect, including Doom3, Hitman Blood Money ect which demand more power ect..

I installed the 27MB one. Will check to see if I have installed that update. Even the menus in the game are slow. :(
