Why do we have to have cheats on racing games, it really winds my up we spend time fine tuning our cars and learning the track for hours. then some fool comes alone using a cheat and recks it for the rest by winning every time. WHAT IS THE POINT OF IT ALL??????

Hacks aren't necessarily in the software they're usually 3rd party programs that modify the game :)

And they do it for the lulz.

it does happen...i remember red alert 2 (yuris revenge) put the president in an ifv and it fires a lazer....you did need 3rd party software to enable this but it was only because they had it in there in the first place.

loved the game but it just got a bit too much when every other game you came across people who used blatant hacks.

What cheats are you talking about here?....i`m more concerned about drivers who deliberately punt you off the track in a race....having said that, i have had a lot of good races online with like minded people who just want to race.

Because he/she is probably crap at the game, that's why. I love tuning cars on NFS, Underground 2 was the highlight of tuning for me.

Am not crap am quite good. raced a guy with a gti golf and i had the mx5. was 19 seconds ahead then on the last straight they fly past me i was doing 167mph. you cant tell me thats just nitro. or the cheat where if they knock you from behind you fly up in the air. yes there are drivers out there that just want to race but there are also the cheaters. and i hate it when they gang up and tag team you off the track.

Not you, i meant the person cheating, and 19 seconds ahead on 167mph is enough to win, even if the guy uses NOS.

Thats what my point is. but he/she whizzed past me.
plus the mx5 is a faster car, to start off with.
Using nitro on the mx5 is wasted, any way all it does is rev and no go.

I like cheats in some games, mainly when they are ott and bring new parameters to the game.

But I do think cheats should be strictly locked and only available to people who actually complete the game as it should be.

I've had NFS:Shift since it was released and I haven't gone online yet :D
I am too preoccupied with Dirt2 now to care about Shift.

In the end there's always going to be cheats in games, you can help reduce the amount out there for example if you have a recording of a game that uses punkbuster of someone cheating, it can ban them from punk buster enabled servers.

Join a clan that does sim racing... there are some really good ones.

They don't tolerate any cheats and you'll be racing on private servers with people who race properly... not the idiots who ruin the public servers.

Can you tell me some of them that are out there.

Not sure how many will actually play NFS:Shift as it's not really much of a simulator, most of these will be into the SimBin stuff, plus rFactor/iRacing/etc (all miles better than Shift), but anyway have a look at the likes of these I guess...

I dont agree that these are miles better than shift....shift is not meant to be a full blown sim of the real thing. I drive in GTR evo on a private server and it does tend to get a bit boring driving a mini around a circuit for an hour!....shift is about instant gratification:D...the graphics are outstanding and the cars are fun to drive and there are some good races to be had.
