Is Minecraft not extremely good fun for the young ones maybe with the mobs turned off for the younger of the two.
Two birds with one stone, also my niece loves driving games like Mario cart not sure if they are on the PC but I'm sure something similar will be available
Rocket League - my daughter (7) is loving playing both co-op and VS with myself or son
this is on PS4 - but would be same on PC I'm thinking of buying PC version so we can play 3 player (I think that works)
considering first time I played it I found it quite difficult - I thought difficulty would put her off but shes finding it a blast
son and daughter have always enjoyed the Lego games too - Lego Jurrasic Park which I bought from CDK dirt cheap was very popular as were the Star-wars ones
I let my 5 & 4 year old grandkids play some parts of Farcry 4 but excluding any shooting, This includes riding Elephants & flying low over the river in the buzzer looking for Crocodiles, there are usually about 4 spread about always lying under lilly pads which they find very exiting, then we land by Rhino's & let them chase us onto rocks where they stomp & snort & usually run off to batter a passing car ( the Rhino's not the kids ). All harmless fun.
You have to take into account that children today see all sorts of stuff on the telly, your FPS games shooting Nazis in WW2 are all 18 games but then you turn on the TV on Sunday afternoon and see war films which show the machine gunning of Nazis etc. Von Ryans express has been on mid afternoon several times recently as a good example
Sonic alll star racing transformed - the newer version of sonic and sega all star racing. Works split screen on pc and great fun, probably the only decent game series sega are capable of producing these days!
