Need help - 8800 GTS

A couple of months. Meaning he will be back by April? Might be a good idea to make him stay there till R600 comes out.

She's there until the end of May so I'm hoping that's plenty of time for everything to be out and reviewed before I decide on what I'm doing.

I hope so, but unless R600 is significantly faster and competitively prices then I'll be going Nvidia again for a while.

Aye, that's the plan hopefully. Just hoping that customs wouldn't have anything to say about it, but I think it could be against the rules to talk about that sort of thing.

Yes the 8800 cards run a bit hotter than other previous generations but it does produce >100W of heat and the fan is VERY quiet which AFAIK the latest ATI cards are definately not.

But I don't mind a hot GPU as long as it is stable I don't really care and the fan control is working as I have seen a small raise in rpm of the fan but if nVidia thinks 80C is fine thatn I guess it's no problem.

temps are still too high to me, should i raise the fan speed level?

That temp is well within the norm.

So I got my 8800 GTS, now on idle its temps are around 65c, way too high!
Plus I can't get the Nvidia control panel to show me my GPU temps on load, what other software is available for me to check out GPU temps on 100% load?

What can I do in order to lower its temps... no OC...

mine is 55c this morning with 4 x 120 fans in my P180 on medium, when on low it can idle anywhere between 55 and 65 nothing to worry about, mine hits 85c tops, way hotter than my HIS 1900XT that would never go above 45 idle!
