I am currently in the process off building a new pc and unsure what i will need for the rest of my build, i have currently purchased the following: NEED HELP WITH THE RAM AND PSU. Many thanks Nathan

Corsair Graphite 780T Full Tower Case
Intel Core i7 7700K 4.2GHz Kaby Lake Processor
Corsair H115i
ASUS PRIME Z270-P Kaby Lake Motherboard
500GB Samsung 850 EVO Solid State Drive
Asus GeForce GTX 1080 STRIX

As seasonic is a good power supply brand i recommend this below.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £133.49
(includes shipping: £10.50)

Not sure about the ram though.

Your a person with plenty of money i suspect so that is why i pointed you to this power supply.

You have a decent pc spec there so i thought not to let it down with a cheaper power supply but those from seasonic i would recommend them.

edit looking at your pc case/tower it supports this
Power supply format ATX
Power supply position Rear Lower

whereas the power supply i spec is Form Factor: Intel ATX 12 V so it will fit fine with no problems.

As for the ram go with 3000mhz at the very least.

Thanks lltfdaniel, i wish i had lots of money its taken me 5 months to get this lot getting somthing at the end of each month when i get paid and am still no closer to getting it completed, but many thanks for your reply for the psu just need ram now

Go with ram that has a mhz speed of 3000 at the very least and as well as the lowest latency of the ram for example 5-5-5-15 that is the latency i made up, lower the better.

Good setup, however:

AMD Ryzen is out. For the price of a 4c/8t i7 you can get an 8c/16t Ryzen cpu. Stock clocks are lower. Max overclocks are lower. IPC is similar, which means that in multithreaded apps that can use all the threads, and in CPU benchmarks, the Ryzen CPU wins every time at multithreaded vs the 7700K. Max OC on the Ryzen chips is around 4Ghz vs almost 5Ghz on Intel's desktop chips. However, in terms of future proofing, one has to wonder if the Ryzen CPU isn't a better choice. It is a bit slower for gaming (in some cases where the game is multithreaded poorly or not at all like WOW, Intel wins by a lot) but that is due to things being Intel optimized due to Intel's decade+ of dominance in the CPU space.

If sticking with Intel, the 6 core coffee lake 8700K is due out in short order. It promises 6c/12t vs 4c/8t and will cost something like 30 pounds more than the current 7700K. A Z370 motherboard will be needed.
While this 8700K is sure to be the new king for gaming, and futureproofing for gaming, and will be better value for money than the 7700K, some people are opting to go with Ryzen.

I personally if I were in the market for a new PC, being a heavy gamer, and not a heavy multitasker, nor a video editor, etc, would go for the 8700K. I think that buying a 7700K with 8700K coming so soon is really silly right now.
