Hey guys.
Firstly i did something silly and bought a graphics card that doesnt fit my computer, due to its sheer size and the fact it takes up 2 slots at the back for monitor screens. Also my power supply probably wouldnt run it if i could make it fit (Big oops!)

So i could do with a little help, im now looking to get a new computer (Cheap as possible.) at most i could probably get £300-400
i was hoping for some good input here and no, im not comfortable with building one.

Thanks in advance.

Isnt that going to set me back like 150-200£ anyway ?
my computer is 6-7 yr old, and its a dell...
surely it would be better to buy an entire new pc ?

Just bought the 5830 so id rather not try to sell it right now, birthday present :p
would that power supply run the 5830 ? ive seen places where it says it needs 600W
but youve definitely opened my eyes to that rig :p

one slight problem is ive never overclocked anything before but im sure it cant be that hard, right ? ;D

Would your PC be able to accomodate a 5770? There isn't a big drop in performance and you could probably find someone to trade you their 5770 + cash for your 5830. I know that you don't want to part with the card but it would save a lot of money and hassle.

No, sadly not.
ive looked into that option but it takes up 2 spaces at the back for monitors too, i was so close to just smashing the back of the computer up to make it fit lol.
i probably need an upgrade too, this system is 7 yr old.

That Dell is definately not a suitable home for a new graphics card, especially with a 230w power supply (although, for the record, Dell PSUs are recknoed to be pretty decent in recent years, def a cut above a generic psu).

Fortunately, almost any modern PC, has enough CPU power for good gaming, so a cheap new build would be suitable to pair with your 5830, as well as giving a massive boost in general everyday computing tasks.

I'd go with dfour's recommendation and sell the supplied 4850 to recoup some cash. The power supply will be up to the job of powering the 5830.

Also, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the 5830. A lot of it's negative rep is based around the fact that it was very overpriced on release
But the truth is, it's a capable perfomer, you'll be running all your games high or max if your monitor resolution is 1080p or less.

I guess you could go for this one which is nearly within budget with an OS, although I'm not so keen on the case.

EDIT: PSU might struggle on this one too.

This if you need an OS.

What area are you in? Overclockers seem quite flexable with specs

Note - If you would like to make a small change to the specification call our sales team on 0871 200 5052 and they will be happy to help.

They might build you a PC using your 5830. I don't know this for sure, it's just an idea. It's just something that occured to me because I live 5 minutes down the road from them.
