Ive finally decided to move away from virgin media adsl broadband. Ive decided to do this because the service they are giving me is terrible. The speeds i get are rarely over 1mbs and the pings are over 200 most of the time.
There are few issues im not sure about when it comes to changing ISP's.
When i ask for my mac code will i have to pay any fee's? Ive been with them for ages something like 4 years.
Once ive got my mac code how long will my internet be down for?
How long would it take for my new isp to activite my connection?
Ive cant decide which ISP to go with ive shortlisted it to two ISP's.

They have fast speeds but im not sure if these speeds will last as loads of people are migrating to them and adsl24 have excellent customer support and a control panel which makes it very easy to change options for your account. Theres a charge of 24 pounds on top of the 18 pound monthly fee. They have a policy which states you have to give 3 months cancelation notice or pay 50 quid.
Adsl24
They are higly rated and have excellent customer support but their speeds are for me half that of what i could realistically get. You can cancel your contract whenever you want at no charge. They even refund your remaining days left on your contract.
