no you wont, worst thing that can happen is a few BSODs.
voltages really depends on the chip itself, some chips might need very little voltage for a high overclock, some need a fair bit amount of voltage to get a mild overclock.
and by few years, do you mean the durability of the board or the need to upgrade it?

So would it be better to buy a second 6950 in the future and crossfire (which will mean I need a new mobo etc ;L) or just buy a more powerful single card and sell the 6950??
