Hello, I want to get a gaming PC but I'm not very good at this stuff. I'd like something that can run games in 1080p with high FPS.

I would also like a NVIDIA GPU and 32GB RAM if that's possible.

My budget is £1,400

Any help would be appreciated! :)

Evening.

Could you please give this a read and fill it in? It'll help us to specify the best setup possible for your needs:

Why Nvidia ?

Also with ram at the prices £400 will be ram alone

If the budget was flexible, you could get the Mach 3.2.

You get a good CPU that a lot of games will like and a 5070 which is very powerful for 1080p.

If you just want "good enough" for 1080p, then a Ryzen 5600 and 5060 will do the job. Only 16GB of memory though, which is not ideal, given current high prices.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £3,865.88 (includes delivery: £15.99)

This build has a weaker CPU and GPU than the Mach 3.2, but it does have 32GB RAM and the 5060 Ti is the stronger 16GB version.

Total: £1,337.94 (includes delivery: £7.99)

If I got the 16gb ram version would I be able to upgrade it in the future? Sorry for the dumb questions, I'm not the best at these type of things haha

The system RAM, yes. Though, RAM is currently very expensive and hard to source, so I'd honestly not recommend you buy a PC with 16GB of RAM.

A graphics card, like a 5060 8GB or 5060 Ti 8GB: no. Graphics memory is not user upgradeable, you're stuck with whatever it has. Unless you swap the graphics card out entirely, but buying a higher memory version of the same card would be terrible value as a future upgrade.

At a bare minimum and assuming you need peripherals, get the Mach 2 if you're concerned about upgrading in the future and want a prebuild, it's much faster out of the gate too, especially at high refresh rate 1080P as it's a resolution that skews more toward the CPU.

Is the 5060 a good GPU? The last PC I had was back in 2021 and it had a 2070 Super which ran most things well

It is faster than a 2070 Super, but not by a lot. If that's where you're coming from, then I'd recommend you buy the Mach 3.2 as a 5070 is roughly twice as fast (referencing TPU's GPU database).

In this day and age I would be wanting the best GPU and as much memory as I can get.

And if cost is a constraint I most certainly would not be paying extra Nvidia tax.

32gb of memory minimum. 2 sticks. DDR5.
16gb on the GPU. 9060xt or 9070xt.

CPU is one of the easiest low cost upgrades you can do in the future. And if you are not competing in online eSport game titles, you can pick up a 1440p monitor with decent refresh rate for not much more than a 1080p display.

If you are going to be considering a budget pre build, then you will be as well just accepting what meets your wallet.

What games are you wanting to play, at what refresh rate and why 1080p?

Remember with AM4 and AM5 when you want to upgrade, it's not as simple as buying the same memory and adding more. As Ryzen systems don't always play well or simply plug and play with four sticks, you may need to play around with timings.

And cost won't be going anywhere. 16gb of DDR5 is £230, 32gb is £330. You see the diminished return.

A second hand 7800X3D is around £200, £360 new, a new 7500X3D is £230. Even a 7600 at £160 can do high refresh rates.

Any reason you can't build your own?
