That's the SPD settings, what does it say in the "Memory" tab?

If you look in the lower table - the "XMP 1600" profile is the one you paid for and need to activate in the BIOS if you haven't already.

Aye, that tab shows you it is running at the motherboard default speed of 1066MHz. To increase the speed to the one you paid for you will need to go into the BIOS (press Delete when the PC is first loading up), go into the memory section, find "XMP" profiles, select the 1600 MHz one and save & exit

Thks but there is nothing in the bios that even says xmp i have the asus p6x58d-e i can just turn the speed up to 1600mhz by dram frequency but the stick in slot 3 stays at a lower clock then the other two in slot 1 and 5

I can't access the p6x58d-e manual (ASUS site sucks) but if the BIOS is anything like mine on the P6T Deluxe v2 then you need to go into the AI Tweaker tab and click on the "Ai overclock tuner" option (top one), hopefully there will be an option for XMP.

Please go ahead and send it to my email address in my trust. It would be really useful to get a copy of the manual as it is very popular (and good quality) motherboard you have here.

Can you run Memtest86 or Prime95 (Blend) for about an hour? I have a strange feeling about that CM3X2G1333C9D stick running at 1600mhz...

ive only ran prime95 for about 30mins so far no problems but ive done a lot of gaming and run windows memory diagnostic with no propblems at all aswel

That's weird. You could try running the system with just one stick of ram. Test each one individually in slot 1, and see what it comes up with. It could be the stick, or it could be the mobo slot or something. If all the sticks appear the same when they're in slot 1. Check the list of available bios updates for your motherboard to see if they improve memory compatibility.

It does look like one stick is'nt the same as the other 2 going by the cpu-z info in the first post. As all 3 sticks should have the same part number. Looks like a packing mistake in the factory to me really, rare but can happen

So if u wanted u could e-mail where u bought them from the screen shots and see if they will replace, if you are worried at all.

But in all honesty 1333 memory will run at 1600mhz happily, what most people don't realise is the fasted official DDR3 memory is 1333, memory that is sold higher then this, is just 1333 memory that can go crazy high and be stable, hence why we have 1600,1866, 2000 and so on and so forth.

I would personally contact where u bought them from, and get a replacement though, as one stick is incorrect for what ever reason.

Well in the second picture in post #12 shows the RAM is running at 800MHz (which is 1600MHz DDR) - so its running at the correct speed. If it is stable after a few runs of memtest I would be satisfied.

It is weird that one of the sticks is saying that it is a 1333MHz version, is the physcial stick any different and do the labels on the RAM stick all say 1600MHz?
