Need help deactivating a service

Somehow,my daughters phone is receiving sports results but it's costing her 36p per text she receives. She has no recollection of subscribing to anything Nor is she interested in sports news anyway and i can't seem to cancel it..

Orange network and the texts come through saying SPORT from the number 117012000

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i topped her phone up £5 this morning for the free text bolt-on but as soon as the credit was on the phone the sports text came through. Her free texts ran out on monday and the text was sent yesterday so i presume it wouldn't come through due to no credit.

PITA so i really help someone can help as google showed me nothing

Sometimes replying with the word 'STOP' cancels a service. Maybe worth a try.

Ah will text her and ask her to give it a try.

this looks very similar to the number she receives could it be that http://www.orange.co.uk/mobile/2202.htm

This is now the law. Texting "STOP" to any auto service must stop any further alerts from a provider. All the orange subscription objects require the user to select something to agree to it (and most come with a huge THIS IS A SUBSCRIPTION block) but if it is from Orange and you feel you have been signed upto unfairly then call 150 and they may give you some of the cost back.

It's probably worth de-activating premium SMS on this account, on Orange to do this:

SMS and MMS premium rate blocking

This service enables you to better control your costs by blocking the purchase of Orange World & Kiosk - SMS and MMS premium rate services. You can either block adult content only or you can block all premium rate services.

To activate the block send an SMS with BLOCK ADULT (for adult content) or BLOCK ALL (for all types of content) to the short number 5155 or call our Customer Care on 0800 700 700.
To deactivate the block just call Customer Care by indicating your password that you received upon your Orange subscription (written on the contract).

Please note that adult SMS and MMS premium services are blocked by default for customers and known users below 18 years old.
