This is going to be a rather odd post, but I thought it was worth a try.

I was watching a film earlier (The Langoliers), I won't spoil the plot for anyone who's not seen it, but as I tried to catergorize the type of plot this film had I was suddenly struck with a very powerful memory. It was surprisingly strong and almost overwhelmed me for a second. I know that sounds dramatic, but that's how it was.

It wasn't a memory of something I'd done personally but I'll try to describe it as best I can.

It was a figure walking slowly, almost marching, across a bridge. I viewed the scene as though I were facing the bridge side-on, like a platform game. I don't know if the figure was male or female, definitely human but there were no distinctive features. The bridge was made up of sections of inverted semicircles. (Imagine a rectangle with a semicircle removed from the bottom and you'll see what I mean).

The figure moved forward one section per step. As their foot left a previous section, that part of the bridge fell away into the abyss below the bridge, and as that foot moved forward to the next section, the new section rose from the abyss to meet their foot exactly on time. Only two pieces of the bridge were ever at walking level at any one time.

I also had the impression that the beginning and end of the bridge were made of a verticle rectangle with a semicircle cut out of the right and left sides, respective to the beginning and end of the bridge. But strangely I also felt that the bridge had no beginning or end, that it was a sort of eternal journey.

I expect it's something quite mundane; an image from a childrens tv programm from 15 years ago or something. Anyway I'm just looking to see if someone knows anything about this, or remembers anything similar. I wouldn't normally obsess over an old memory like this if it weren't for the powerful effect it had on me and the downright bizarre structure of it. Anyone who's seen The Langoliers will probably understand why the film triggered this particular memory. It's not directly related to this film, but the memory works as an analogy for the film.

Any help or thoughts appreciated!

Sleep might help???

I saw the Langoliers....is that the Steven King film where those odd thingies with big ass teeth eat the world?

I think that's got to be the weirdest film I've ever seen by miles.

Yeh that's the film. It is weird but quite original on the subject of time travel.

I won't be ready to sleep for a while, but perhaps it will help. I hope so anyway. I don't like having such strong memories that I can't put in context.
