hi all

Im in need of urgent help with finding a part for my car, The Driver seat's adjustment for the back has broken, thus i am stuck in a single position thats killing my back due to the angle!

I found the offending part, its a small plastic part that snapped.

here are two pictures:

Please ignore the Glue residue, i tried to use some high strength Epoxy but it simply did nothing.

PLEASE HELP!

i forgot to add what car it is haha

Its a Renault Megane tech run 08

What car?

Bits from within seats aren't normally purchasable but you could find another knackered seat / car at a scrappy and extract the bugger

Phone local Renault dealer, ask to speak to the parts department, then quote the part number, which seems to be on your item.

Wait a day, then collect it.

Renault thinks my car has a turning thing to move the seats angle.... They said it only has one kind of seat... Which is wrong as I have a blooming different seat grrrrr
And they said if I did need a part I would have to buy the ENTIRE seat assembly!?!?!?

I spoke to a Renault dealer last week, and had to visit them source a part, they were utterly hopeless and support for Renault stuff on the internet is awful too.

I would definitely recommend a trip down to the breakers and finding the part there

That looks repairable/bodge-able. Use a couple of bits of strong wire (e.g. garden wire) to clamp the two parts together at the top and bottom. Drill a small hole through the webs at the top for the upper wire to pass through. Twist the ends of the wire together with the part fitted so it clamps the shaft tightly.

Alternatively, it would be pretty simple to fabricate something from a strip of aluminum or steel.

It looks like Polypropylene which never glues well, either with epoxy or cyanoacrylate, because it has such a waxy finish.

How much do you think it would cost to have someone make this from metal? >.<

Also I can't find any scrap or breakers around my area.. Anyone got any idea where I can find them I'm at Le10 0rw

4T5 will probably know some around that way.
In Leicester, you have a couple. End Of Life centre on Jarvis Street and Howkins on Thurcaston Road. There are more than likely a few others too, but most were shut down when they built some recycling plant thing.

Probably cheaper to buy the whole seat assembly tbh. Unless you can find someone who will cast it using that as a mould.

If you can model it up, im sure someone could 3D print it. Personally, I would go to scrappies.
