Need a bit help regarding an issue at my partners work.

Basics

My partner took some money out her bank to pay for our holiday the next day.

It went missing from her locker

Due to an argument a few days earlier about money she didn't report it until the next day
(Her day off)

Fast forward 3 wks she got a letter yesterday inviting her to an investigation today at 1500 due to her conduct regarding an alleged theft. Stating she didnt report it quick enough to allow them to carry out an proper Investigation and inconsistency with her version of events ( this being when she phoned to report what had happened she didnt mention £200 of the missing no ey she had taken out her purse not the bank) but she was o Lt asked for a brief explanation on The phone . She was more accurate when they had a meeting

Were a bit stumped why they are investigating the victim. She's not asked for compensation, reimbursement or anything like that she hasn't made any accusations or slagged the company off anywhere.

Any advice is appreciated

So ring them up and tell them you two had a big argument. I'm sure they'll understand and let it go. BFFs and all that.

Or they won't give a toss because that's not their problem and of no consequence to them, whereas someone reporting stolen money a day after the fact with an inconsistent story could have adverse effects on their business.

EDIT: Whilst I may be a bit harsh, things like this irritate me no end so excuse me. For a better answer, try this:

Go through the investigation and see what happens. This is probably just routine for them so let them crack on and only worry when you have more information. And learn to seperate the difference between personal problems and work problems.

How would this have can adverse effect on the business?
