Guys,

I need your help!! Can someone build me a gaming PC with the following?

1 - It must be a small factor gaming PC.
2 - I need the best small (good airflow/cooling) case money can buy. The height can be no more than 36cm (very important). The depth 47cm. The width 50cm.
3 - It must include a 980ti (a must).
4 - No water cooling. I won't be overclocking the CPU or GPU.
5 - Must include an SSD and a second HDD.
6 - Must be able to run The Witcher 3, Crysis 3, etc on max settings with normal temps.

My real gripe is the case. I was going to go for the Corsair Carbide Air 540 Case but the height is a little too much. I did think about the Corsair Carbide Air 240 Case, however, I am concerned this doesn't provide the best cooling. I need a case with the above dimensions that provides the absolute best cooling.

Many thanks!!

Which one?

Airflow depends on cable management, fans, surroundings ( sounds like you're putting it in a cupboard ) which isn't great as it'll retain the heat.

Thanks a lot for your replies. They are both very similar. Which do you think is better? I will probably ask for additional fans to be included in the available spaces.

What do you guys think of my build below? Please note, for some reason it doesn't give me the option to change the RAM to 16GB, however, it does give me the option when I select the Haswell base configuration (but I don't need an i7, just an i5). So the RAM will be 16GB in the final build.

The front of the cabinet will be entirely open. There will be at least 20cm of free room on each side and at the back of the PC. There is also a hole on top of the cabinet for further ventilation.

The BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 3 won't fit in the Air 240 as it is too big.

Also there is no DVD bay in the Air 240 so you would want Windows 10 USB version, or buy an external dvd drive.

Are you getting OCUK to build the system for you ?

Here is a spec with the Fractal case.

This case does have room for a slimline optical drive, although you might be better going with an external one if you need it as the drive bay is located on the right side of the case.

A 550W psu is enough for a single card. The Alpenfohn cooler will fit in the case, and it is more than enough to keep the cpu in check.

Overclockers can build it for you if you don't fancy doing it yourself.

Yes, I will be getting OCUK to build. Thanks for the heads up on the USB, I won't need a DVD bay. I guess I can drop the CPU Cooler to Noctua NH-L9i Low Profile Quiet CPU Cooler. I will also get all the fans configured for maximum airflow. Apart from this, does it look like a solid rig?

Just saw your last post. That looks great. Isn't the WD Black better than Blue? Also, I am leaning towards to Corsair 240 Case for some reason.

I am tempted to go with 650w, just in case. Is that an issue?

Also, the Corsair 240 Case comes with configurable fans, please see below:

Rear - 2 x 80mm (optional)
Right Side - 1 x 120mm (optional)
Bottom - 2 x 120 (optional)

Which ones are worth adding and from the website which ones are recommended?

The Air 240 comes with 3 fans pre-installed, so you shouldn't need to add any extra.

The WD Blue is fine for a desktop pc. The Black isn't worth the extra money.

You can go with a 650W psu if you want, but a 550W would be fine for a GTX 980 ti and a stock i5.

I swapped the gpu to the EVGA SC as the MSI card might not fit. A lot of cards are too tall and they hit the side panel.

If you want this spec building by ocuk then you can post the basket in the pre-sales section and they can give you a quote.

Thanks a lot, Lee. Everything you listed looks great. Also, the CPU Cooler that's selected should be fine right?

Yes the cooler should be fine if you don't plan on overclocking the cpu.

Unless you go for a sealed water cooler, then there isn't a lot of options for air coolers as the Air 240 has a max cooler height of about 130mm.

Lol, sorry. I see that the Silverstone TJ08B-E Temjin Evolution is also an option. Slightly higher in height but enough to fit into my cabinet. Will this be a better option for airflow?

The power supply is mounted at the top of the case in the Silverstone, so just make sure you have a little bit of extra room above the case.

I honestly don't know which would be better for airflow, so you might be better asking customer services on that.
The Silverstone can fit a better cpu cooler though (Up to 165mm) so something like the Alpenfohn Matterhorn Black will perform better than the low profile Noctua.

I would suggest getting an extra fan for the rear exhaust if you go with the Silverstone, as it only comes with 1 x 180mm front fan pre-installed. Noiseblocker fans have a good reputation, but you can also ask ocuk if they recommend anything else.

Thanks a lot, Lee. I am in contact with Customer Services and I am waiting to here back on my last build.

In regards to the space in the cabinet. There is a lot of room for width and depth. For height though, the cabinet is 39.6cm and the case height (Temjin) is at 37.4cm. So I have an extra 2.2cm space. Not sure if this is enough but I'll let OC decide on that (sent pictures of cabinet).

Below is the build I sent to them for review (I will look into the extra case fan and CPU Cooler you mentioned, I have include my own ones below):
