Hey again guys, I have finished my own build, and as it happens, my father was so impressed that he asked me if I could build him a computer too. He gave me a budget of €1200 (£1000). Do not factor in weekly offers as I am not sure when the actual order will be placed.

It needs to be;
Very fast turning on
Long lifespan
Not need replacing
Have a lot of storage for files
Able to withstand being on for 24hrs+

The budget must cover:
-Large Monitor
-Scanner
-CPU
-Motherboard
-Memory
-Storage
-Optical Drive
-Case
-PSU
-Mouse
-Keyboard
-Speakers
~GFX~

I can handle the Case/Optical Drive myself, but I'm not too sure what others are best for its performance. He will not be gaming or anything like that on it, so is a GFX required?

If you do decide to put up specs and models, please state your reason why you choose that piece, if possible. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I just asked him there, and he said this:
"I just want the one monitor for now, but I want the ability to put another one in down the line"
So basically he only wants one monitor for the moment, but the build has to be able to fit another monitor in

Looks very nice Beejjacobs!
Do you know if that'll be quiet? He said he'd prefer if it was.
Also is a GFX not required?

He keeps telling me that he wants a GFX so I guess I'll have to have a cheap quiet one in there if at all possible

I don't think OCUK do scanners, it just seems like printers now that I'm looking at it. He said its okay and he can get a scanner elsewhere.
That build seems perfect Stulid, although is a modular PSU not better then a normal one, or does it make a difference?

Neither do I, but everything there looks perfect, exactly what I asked for. I noticed that there are also two SSD's, does that mean I'll have a mechanical SSD and the other one for storage or? Sorry I no nothing outside of the mechanical SSD

They are certainly easier to make tidy, but I included that OCZ as it has a flash of Blue on the label so would look good through he window:)

What about going for http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-166-CM&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1103

Along with the CM case:

=£20 discount too aye?

**edit** I can just add another blue led fan in :D the case seems to be able to hold two extra 120's if I'm correct

Theres one SSD (for Windows and as much as can be fitted on it) and the 2TB HDD for storage.

That deal has expired:(

Also my reply was to Surveyor after he changed his post from asking about how the Dell screen connects to the board to wheres the scanner.

Where does it say that its expired? Was just looking at the thread now and theres no meniton of it being expired.
So the SSD is for storing basic files only, and improves computer speed while the HDD holds all the main info?

Ahh damn, that was a nice deal too :(
So yeah seems like we got everything, will show it to him in a few minuites, thanks for your good work and fast replys guys, will post if I come across any problems.
