Need help on ordering a cable?

So, I'm building a PC for a friend and coming to plug his gpu (Asus 760 DirectCU II) into his power supply. But the only cable that came with it is a dodgy 8 pin (into the gpu) to two 6 pin adapters that don't connect to his power supply. I think I have found the problem is that he is missing a cable that comes from the power supply and plugs into the 6 pin that comes off the GPU. His powersupply is a Corsair CMPSU 650HX Professional series but I don't know the name of the cable he needs to order to connect his power supply to his GPU. Thanks

the psu should have
PCI-Express Connector
2 x 6+2-Pin

one 6+2 = 8pin goes in the gpu
one 6+2 = 6pin goes in the gpu and leave the 2 pin loose

The power supply doesn't have any cables, the only cable here is the one that cam with the GPU

you will need something like molex to 6pin pcie then

I need a cable that comes from his psu to fit the one coming off the gpu.

Is that a molex to 6/8 pin converter?

If so, get a new Psu if his existing one doesn't have the correct connections actually coming from it.. If you use an existing molex connector, then I doubt the psu will be of a decent standard!

The one going in the card is 8 pin and the 2 coming off are 6 pin. I don't know what they connect to.

The card has an 8 pin plugged in. The 8 pin has two 6 pins coming off of it

If this is your Psu, then you need to get in touch with Corsair. All modular cables vary from make to make. How did he manage to loose all 4 PCIE cables, 1 or 2 I could understand.

You can get cables for it via corsair.

Just check that it will fit your freinds PSU first (There have been several models of Hx PSUs).

You should already have the cables available on the psu, you only need to use that adaptor if the psu does not have the necessary cables. I think you maybe mistakingly be trying to use both the gpu adaptor cable and the psu cables.
