Right guys im getting the ocuk ultima vanquish system and was wondering if it's worth changing the Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache to either a Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache or the Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache, i know it's look of the draw but i want a drive that will last and hopefully not fail in a short space of time, need some replies fairly quick as im ordering the system this afternoon :), can't wait, thanks guys.

I have 3 of the Seagate 1TB drives and they're very good. Not sure why you would want to change. The WD is a complete waste of time since no mechanical drive maxes out SATAII, so SATAIII is just pointless.

EDIT: Actually, the larger cache might be nice! :p

f3 has been very popular recently ( i have one myself) and at one point where the fastest 7200 drives you could get not sure whether that is still true or not however

For long-term reliability go with WD RE3 or RE4 Enterprise drives. They are more money, but provide better quality. The WD VelociRaptor is based on the Enterprise design. Just doesnt have the higher capacity of the RE3/RE4 series. You get what you pay for!
